Metadata policy

Some picture files have more information in them than just the picture; we call this information, "metadata". Wearng automatically tries to take out any metadata that could be used to personally identify you. We prefer this to removing all metadata because some of the information can be interesting to photographers, such as the camera make and model.

Despite our best efforts you are encouraged to inspect your metadata before uploading any pictures if you are concerned about your privacy. If you become aware that some pictures may still contain personal information after uploading please write to us immediately including an example picture.

You can see the metadata for a picture you have uploaded by clicking the M button on the picture's profile page. This option is only shown for your own pictures when you are signed in. However, anyone with a metadata parser could see this information after downloading a picture.
